On the last day of June, Roger Penske was feted at Corning (N.Y.) Museum of Glass as the 2016 recipient of the Cameron R. Argetsinger Award for Outstanding Contributions to Motorsports, a fitting honor for one of the giants of the business now enjoying Team Penske’s 50th Anniversary.

Gordon Kirby’s “The Way It Is / Appreciating Roger Penske” blog entry today captures the essence of that evening, offered here in the link above for your own appreciation.

For a look at the festivities, we offer this link to a photo array by Ange Lizusso.

Also below are snaps of various RRDC and IMRRC folks and industry execs.

RUNNING INTO LYN ST. JAMES

160702+lsj pr1Your web master ventured down to Pacific Raceways on Independence Day weekend for a vintage event and there was Lyn St. James – Grand Marshal. A book missing from my collection was Lyn’s 2002 autobiography “LYN ST. JAMES – An Incredible Journey.” No more, as she graciously signed a copy for me. The story is built around the 2000 Indianapolis 500 and what can be accomplished with sheer determination. If you don’t have a copy, your racing library is incomplete. Order one now.
